Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator - Remote

Join our People & Culture Team and take ownership of recruiting the volunteers who make our events happen. You will manage candidates from application through to offer.
This role is fully remote and flexible, so it fits around study, work or family. It suits someone who has worked in recruitment, HR or talent acquisition and wants to stay active, broaden their experience or give back.
What you will be doing
- Screening applications: reviewing incoming applications against role requirements and shortlisting suitable candidates
- Candidate communication: contacting applicants, answering their questions and keeping them updated so they have a good experience with us
- Interviewing: scheduling and helping run interviews, and contributing to hiring decisions
- Recruitment tracking: keeping our recruitment tracker accurate and up to date as candidates move through each stage
- Advertising roles: writing and posting volunteer role ads on SEEK and other platforms, managing applications as they come in, and finding new places to reach good candidates
- Handover to onboarding: making sure successful candidates move smoothly into onboarding, and supporting general People & Culture tasks when needed
What you will get
- Ongoing guidance from an experienced leader
- The chance to recruit for a wide range of roles across events, marketing, finance and administration
- Real ownership of a recruitment process, not just admin tasks
- Flexible hours that suit your schedule
- The satisfaction of supporting young people in regional and rural Australia
What we are looking for
- At least 6 months of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition or HR (paid or volunteer)
- Hands-on experience using SEEK to post ads and manage applicants
- A good understanding of Australian recruitment practices, such as reference checks, Working with Children Checks and handling candidate information in line with privacy requirements
- Experience screening applications and coordinating or conducting interviews
- Organised and reliable, with good attention to detail
- Friendly and confident communicating with a wide range of people
- Good judgement when handling confidential information
- Nice to have: not-for-profit or volunteer recruitment experience, and familiarity with Google Workspace or applicant tracking systems
