Purpose

Lead the online donation appeals and event-based fundraising that bring in the money we need to run campaigns and prepare for the 2028 election. You'll plan, launch, and promote appeals and fundraising events, working closely with the events team, candidates, and regional groups. The Treasurer handles all banking and compliance; your focus is on the campaigns and the people behind them. No formal fundraising experience required. If you're organised, good with people, and can write a clear appeal, you can do this role.

What you’ll do

• Map out online appeals and events across the year for a fundraising calendar, aligned with our 2028 election goal
• Launch online donation appeals with clear, compelling appeal copy and work with the Communications Coordinator and Social Media team to promote them
• Coordinate fundraising events, plan and run raffles, stalls, trivia nights, and community events with the Events portfolio lead and regional group leaders
• Support candidates and regional groups by helping them run fundraising in their areas
• Monitor how each appeal and event is going against its goal, and keep momentum through updates
• Thank donors and make sure every donor feels appreciated knowing the impact of their contribution
• After each appeal or event, note what worked and adjust the approach

How the role works

1. Plan

With the State Convenor, map out the fundraising calendar - what appeals and events are coming up and their goals

2. Launch an appeal

Write the appeal copy, set it up on the platform, and work with the Communications Coordinator and Social Media team to promote it

3. Run the event

Coordinate with the Events portfolio lead and regional group leaders to deliver the event. 

4. Track

Monitor progress against the goal. Share updates to keep momentum going

5. Thank

Thank donors and supporters, and share the impact of what was raised

6. Report

Report outcomes to the State Committee - what was raised, what worked, what didn't

7. Improve

Note lessons and feed them into the next appeal or event
