As our reception volunteer, your communication skills and organised approach ensure community members receive a welcoming, helpful, and dependable experience.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide professional, friendly customer service at front reception and across incoming telephone enquiries.
  • Guide visitors through centre information, intake forms, room bookings, and local appointments.
  • Carry out routine office administration, including simple data entry, email correspondence, filing, and scanning.
  • Maintain a tidy, welcoming reception space that reflects our centre's inclusive values.
  • Connect complex or urgent enquiries directly to staff on site supported through clear handover procedures.

About This Role

This is an active front-of-house coordination role where your customer-facing experience translates directly into positive community outcomes. It offers a structured, low-pressure environment to refresh your workplace confidence, practice modern office administration, and build non-profit sector knowledge. You focus on clear communication, smooth administrative workflows, and client guidance, where on-site staff are always on hand to guide you, handle complex questions, and ensure you feel completely backed every step of the way

 

What You Bring

  • Background experience in retail, hospitality, office administration, or customer-facing environments.
  • Everyday multitasking, practical people skills, and a friendly, approachable phone manner.
  • Basic digital confidence (email, web browsers, and simple office applications) and willingness to learn.
  • Reliability, clear professional boundaries, and a commitment to community values.
