Coffs Community and Volunteer Centre (CCVC) is an accessible community hub dedicated to strengthening local wellbeing, connection, and social inclusion. As our reception volunteer, you are the welcoming first point of contact for individuals seeking guidance, practical support, and local service referral pathways.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome visitors, service users, and community members with warmth, dignity, and active listening.
- Guide community members through local support services, referral networks, and centre programs.
- Manage inbound phone and reception enquiries in a calm, professional manner.
- Assist with essential front-of-house intake records, room bookings, and basic administrative workflows.
- Work collaboratively with on-site staff, immediately engaging paid coordinators when complex needs or client distress arise.
About This Role
This is an active service navigation and triage role designed to build your frontline community services practice in a structured, safe environment. Serving as a compassionate connector, you will practice active listening, trauma-informed communication, and referral frameworks. You’ll practice with the confidence of having a dedicated on-site team right beside you, with clear handover pathways so you are always backed by professional staff whenever complex needs arise.
