About House of Sadaqa

House of Sadaqa is a Sydney charity that has been helping families in crisis since 2010, providing whitegoods, furniture and everyday essentials to people with nowhere else to turn. Our Goodwill Shop in Revesby is one of the social enterprises that pays for that work, so the money raised over the counter goes back into supporting local families.

What you would be doing

• Serving customers and helping them find what they are looking for
• Sorting, checking and pricing donated items
• Setting up displays and rotating stock
• Keeping the shop floor tidy, stocked and welcoming
• Unpacking and putting away new donations

We only take new and near-new donated goods, so much of the job is about presenting good quality items well.

Who we are looking for

No retail experience is needed. If you are friendly, reliable and happy to pitch in, we will show you the rest. You do not need a Working With Children Check or a police check for this role. Volunteers need to be 18 or over, and under 18s are welcome when a parent or guardian comes along.

When

Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm. Pick the day or days that suit you. There is no minimum commitment, and one shift a week makes a real difference.

Work for the Dole and Work and Development Orders

House of Sadaqa is a Work for the Dole host and an approved Work and Development Order (WDO) sponsor. If you are meeting Centrelink mutual obligation requirements, or working off NSW fines through a WDO, mention it when you apply and we will talk you through how it works.

Why it matters

The shop is not a side project. It is how we pay for the fridge that goes to a family starting again with nothing, and the bed that means a child is not sleeping on the floor. Every shift in the shop turns donated goods into practical help for someone nearby.
