Our Greyhounds As Pets (GAP) Events Volunteers help us connect with local communities, spread the word about greyhounds and create positive experiences for both people and dogs.

Whether you’re chatting with someone who has never met a greyhound before, helping at an adoption event or getting involved in a community activation, you’ll be helping people discover just how wonderful greyhounds can be and, the work GAP does to help them find their forever homes.

What will you do?

You’ll help bring GAP to life at events across the community. You might:

• Represent GAP at community events, markets, festivals, shopping centres and other local activations
• Chat with members of the public and share information about greyhounds and the GAP adoption process
• Help promote greyhound adoption and answer questions from potential adopters
• Support GAP staff and fellow volunteers to help events run smoothly
• Distribute promotional materials and encourage people to learn more about greyhound adoption
• Share your own experiences with greyhounds where appropriate
• Help with activities designed to build GAP’s presence and connections within local communities
• Once trained, assist with greyhound handling and the safe presentation of greyhounds at events where appropriate
• Most importantly, share your love of greyhounds with everyone you meet! 🐕
