Write Grants. Change Lives.

Volunteer Grant Writer
Help us fund free complementary support for people living with cancer
Golden Rose Cancer Collective (GRCC) is looking for an experienced and passionate Volunteer Grant Writer to help us secure funding that will allow us to expand our work supporting people affected by cancer.
GRCC is an Australian registered charity connecting people living with cancer with qualified complementary therapists who volunteer their services at no cost to the person with cancer.
We are growing and have exciting plans to expand our reach, develop our online platform, build partnerships and make more complementary support accessible to people who need it.
About the role
We are seeking a volunteer Grant Writer who can identify suitable funding opportunities and develop compelling, high-quality grant applications.
You will work closely with our Program Coordinator and Founder/CEO to understand our programs, funding priorities and impact, then translate these into strong applications that demonstrate why investment in GRCC will make a difference.
Responsibilities may include:
- Researching and identifying relevant Australian grants and philanthropic funding opportunities
- Assessing grant guidelines and eligibility
- Developing and writing grant applications
- Tailoring applications to different funders and their priorities
- Helping articulate our programs, outcomes and community impact
- Developing budgets and supporting documentation in collaboration with the team
- Maintaining a grant calendar and tracking applications and outcomes
- Identifying opportunities for longer-term funding and partnerships
- Assisting with acquittals and grant reporting where required
What we're looking for
Ideally, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience writing successful grant applications
- Strong written communication and storytelling skills
- The ability to research funding opportunities and interpret grant guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- An understanding of the Australian not-for-profit, health, community or charitable sector is desirable but not essential
- A genuine interest in making a positive difference for people affected by cancer
You do not need to be a cancer specialist. We are looking for someone who can take our story, programs and impact and communicate them persuasively to potential funders.
What you'll gain
This is an opportunity to use your skills for a cause with a direct community impact.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Make a tangible contribution to people living with cancer
- Work with a small, passionate volunteer-led charity
- Build your portfolio of not-for-profit grant-writing experience
- Help shape the future growth of an emerging organisation
- Work flexibly and remotely
- Become part of the GRCC community and our network of practitioners and supporters
Commitment
Volunteer | Remote | Flexible
We are particularly interested in someone who can commit approximately 3–5 hours per week, although this can be discussed depending on availability and upcoming grant opportunities.
The role can be undertaken entirely remotely.
