Are you someone who enjoys getting stuck in, working with your hands and seeing the difference your efforts can make?

We’re looking for a Maintenance Support volunteer to join our team at GAP’s Londonderry facility and help keep our grounds and shared spaces clean, tidy, safe and welcoming for our greyhounds, volunteers, staff and visitors.

You’ll work closely with our Maintenance team, helping out with a variety of practical jobs , from gardening and weeding to keeping shared areas tidy and lending a hand with those everyday tasks that help keep our facility running smoothly.

What will you do?

• Help keep shared areas within the facility clean and tidy - Assist with general maintenance of the grounds
• Assist with basic outdoor area upkeep, ie. Gardening, weeding, mowing yards and play areas
• Help with simple, non-technical facility tasks
• Support the team with practical tasks that contribute to the comfort and wellbeing of greyhounds
• Help maintain a warm and welcoming environment for visitors, volunteers, staff and adopters
• Letting GAP team members know when any supplies need replenishing or maintenance issues are noticed

What we’re looking for:

• Reliable and happy to get stuck into the work
• Happy working as part of a team, while also being comfortable working independently
• Comfortable getting their hands dirty and tackling a variety of practical tasks
• Safety-conscious and willing to follow workplace health and safety practices
• Passionate about greyhounds and animal welfare
