Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) Volunteer

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this opportunity on behalf of Eastern Health.
The Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) is an evidence-based program that aims to prevent delirium and functional decline in older, hospitalised patients.
Prescribed by the American Geriatric Society, volunteers provide warmth, companionship, encouragement and daily activities as prescribed by the multidisciplinary medical team.
What is Delirium
Delirium is a sudden state of confusion or changes in mental state that can cause a loss of functioning. Many different factors can contribute to the onset of delirium. It is short term and it is preventable and curable.
