Operations & SOP Development Volunteer

Help us build the systems that will grow a grassroots charity.

The Feel Good Project Foundation is looking for an experienced and proactive volunteer to help us develop the operational processes, procedures and Standard Operating Procedures needed to support our growing organisation.

We are building many of our systems from the ground up. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys creating order, improving the way things work and turning practical knowledge into clear, easy-to-follow processes.

About the role

Working closely with our founders and team, you will help us review how the Feel Good Project currently operates, identify what is missing and create practical systems that can be followed by staff and volunteers.

The work will cover different areas of the Foundation, from volunteer roles and onboarding through to preparing, operating and packing down our mobile trailer, Frida.

You will help us:

• Map our day-to-day operations and identify process gaps
• Develop clear and practical Standard Operating Procedures
• Document the setup, operation and pack-down of our mobile trailer
• Create volunteer role descriptions, responsibilities and workflows
• Improve volunteer onboarding, training and communication processes
• Develop checklists, templates and operational resources
• Recommend systems that will help us work efficiently and consistently
• Make our processes easier to understand, follow and hand over as we grow

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who can take initiative, work independently and confidently guide us through the process.

You may have experience in operations, project management, business improvement, governance, administration, quality assurance, workplace training or SOP development.

You will be a great fit if you:

• Can look at the bigger picture while also noticing the small details
• Are comfortable asking questions and identifying what needs to be done
• Can turn conversations and existing practices into clear documentation
• Write in a practical, friendly and easy-to-understand way
• Are organised, reliable and able to manage your own work
• Enjoy creating structure within a growing organisation
• Care about community, dignity and creating positive social impact

Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector would be helpful, but it is not essential. We are most interested in finding someone with strong operational thinking, initiative and the confidence to help lead this project.

About the Feel Good Project Foundation

The Feel Good Project Foundation supports people experiencing hardship by providing access to hair, beauty and wellbeing services in welcoming, respectful environments.

Our mobile trailer, Frida, allows us to bring these services directly into communities. As the Foundation grows, we need strong systems behind the scenes so our team and volunteers can deliver services safely, consistently and with care.

Location and commitment

This role can include a combination of remote work and occasional in-person meetings in Sydney.

We are flexible regarding days and hours and would be happy to agree on a project structure that suits the right volunteer. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can commit consistently over several months while the core operational framework is developed.
